AUTHORITIES END SEARCH ON MAERSK SHIP IN ELIZABETH, N.J.
Federal and state law enforcement officials have ended a one-day search aboard the containership 'Mayview Maersk' in Port Elizabeth, N.J.
“The authorities found nothing harmful on board and the ship is working now,” said Tom Boyd, a spokesman for Maersk Sealand.
The 900-foot-long 'Mayview Maersk,' which arrived in New York harbor on Sunday from Halifax, Nova Scotia, was expected to sail shortly for Norfolk, Va.
Maersk Sealand would not comment on press reports that federal agents were allegedly looking for explosives.
