BX Solutions, a Toledo, Ohio-based multimodal company borne from the debris of BAX Global, has added a time-definite, airport-to-airport trucking service to its 31 markets.
Expansion of the service will be rolled out in the coming months. So far, the service routes from its hubs in Toledo, Atlanta and Chicago.
“BX Solutions has a lot to be optimistic about this year,” the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority’s Paul Toth said in a statement. “The trucking network will also support further growth opportunities in the air cargo and domestic intermodal container industries. This is a step in the right direction.”
Toth noted the new development will help grow BX’s air cargo activities as well as its domestic intermodal container market.
The service addition comes at the end of the first year for the company, which moved into a warehouse near the airport vacated by BAX Global. In July 2011, BAX closed its U.S. air hub in Toledo; BX moved into the space a few months later.
According to a BX Solutions press release, in its first year, the company has expanded to 700 workers, the number of employees that were displaced when BAX closed its doors.
