Executive Moves: Crowley and essDOCS

Crowley appoints VPs to government services and global ship management, while essDOCS names new chairman.

Crowley Maritime Corp. has appointed Mike Golonka vice president of government services and Wendy MacDonald vice president of global ship management. Golonka was previously vice president of ship management. He joined the carrier in 1987 and has risen through the operations ranks. MacDonald, formerly vice president of procurement, joined Crowley in 1992 as a management trainee and has held positions of increasing responsibility within the container shipping organization.

essDOCS, an enabler of paperless trade, has named Andre Toet board chairman. He succeeds Barry Williams, who has served as chairman from 2006 to 2013. Toet has more than 30 years of maritime industry experience and held numerous supervisory board positions, of which PortInfolink (subsequently Portbase), directly supported his previous role as non-executive board member for essDOCS. He has served as managing director of P&O Nedlloyd Europe, chief executive officer of Maersk Central Europe, chief operating officer of the Port of Rotterdam and, since 2011, CEO for Sohar Industrial Port Co. in Oman.
