CON-WAY ADDS XML BILL OF LADING TO E-BUSINESS OFFERINGS
Con-Way Transportation Services Inc. said it has added an extensible markup language (XML) interface that can be used to transfer bill of lading and order pickup data to Con-Way.
The XML interface allows customers to bring forward data from their order entry system to generate a bill of lading and transmit the completed document to Con-Way, their shipping dock, customer and rate auditor.
The link also triggers pickup by the appropriate Con-Way regional less-than-truckload carrier.
Con-Way also has XML links for customer-specific rates, generic rates from public tariff, and shipment tracking and tracing.
Con-Way is a subsidiary of Palo Alto, Calif.-based CNF Inc.
