IKEA BECOMES LATEST TO SIGN WITH EXEL
IKEA has signed a contract with Exel to provide comprehensive home delivery service to it's 10 stores in the United Kingdom, including store-to-door delivery at specific times chosen by the customer at time of ordering.
The contract, valued at $85.8 million over five years, will be fully operational in August.
The IKEA contract is one of 16 deals signed by Exel over the first six month of 2001. The contracts at valued at $114.4 million per year and $572 million over the life of the contracts. The deals involve existing customers, such as Salisbury, Safeway and Auchan, and new customers such as Asda, BAA, Intermarche and Selfridges.
