BUSH DESIGNATES OKUN, HILLMAN TO TOP ITC POSTS
President Bush has designated Deanna Tanner Okun, a Republican from Idaho, to serve as chairman of the U.S. International Trade Commission through June 16, 2004.
Okun was named vice chairman of the ITC in June 2000. President Clinton appointed her for the commission term that will expire on June 16, 2008.
Okun was counsel for international affairs to Sen. Frank Murkowski, R-Ark., from 1993 to 1999.
The president has also designated Jennifer A. Hillman, an Indiana Democrat, as vice chairman of the ITC through June 16, 2004.
Hillman has served as ITC commissioner since August 1998. Clinton appointed her for a term expiring Dec. 16, 2006.
Hillman was general counsel for the U.S. Trade Representative from 1995 to 1997. In the early 1990s, she served as chief textile negotiator for USTR.
