Twill strengthens foothold in Asia

The digital freight forwarder added Thailand and Malaysia as import countries to its online platform.

Digital freight forwarding startup Twill added Thailand and Malaysia as import countries to its online platform last week.
The platform provides instant quotations 24-7, and it takes 30 seconds to place a cargo booking, Twill said.
Twill launched in April 2017 under partner company Damco, the third-party logistics subsidiary of A.P. Moller – Maersk.
Commenting on the expansion into Thailand and Malaysia, Erry Hardianto, Thailand, Malaysia and Singapore area CEO at Damco said, “The market here is very much ready to accept this new way of freight forwarding. We’re seeing more and more companies willing to try this kind of technology every day.”
Twill CEO Troels Stovring said, “We’re one of the first to be serving these countries.
“Both countries are growing very quickly and it’s impossible to ignore them,” Stovring said.
Twill now serves full container load, ocean services from port to door, importing from China (including Hong Kong and Taiwan territories), India, Vietnam or Indonesia to the United Kingdom, United States, Mexico, France, Spain, Slovakia, The Netherlands, Belgium, Luxembourg, Thailand, Malaysia, Poland or the Czech Republic.
