MAERSK SEALAND NAMES NEW S-CLASS SHIP
Maersk Sealand has named the “Caroline Maersk,” the latest in a series of large “S-class” containerships, at the A.P. Moller’s shipyard in Odense.
Like her predecessors in the series, the Caroline Maersk has a length of 347 meters, a width of 43 meters and a draft of 14.5 meters fully loaded. The ship, rated with an official capacity of 6,600 TEUs by A.P. Moller, is believed to be able to carry about 7,100 TEUs.
After delivery in early September, the new ship will enter the Maersk Sealand service between Europe and the Far East.
