U.S. international air freight traffic down 1% in January
U.S. international freight and express traffic fell 0.9 percent in January to 828 million revenue ton-miles, according to the latest statistics of the U.S. Air Transport Association.
Over the same period, international mail traffic decreased 7.7 percent to 36 million revenue ton-miles.
Total international cargo traffic, including freight, express and mail, declined 1.2 percent to 864 million ton-miles.
U.S. Air Transport Association members include Aloha, Alaska, America West, American, American Trans Air, Continental, Continental Micronesia, Delta, Emery, FedEx, Hawaiian, JetBlue, Midwest, Northwest, Southwest, United, UPS and U.S. Airways.
