Canadian trucker, railroad extend contract

Canadian Pacific and the Consolidated Fastfrate (CFF) Wednesday announced a new $500 million agreement extending their existing contract for an additional 10 years.

“Over the past 40 years we have seen the incredible growth and development of the intermodal industry, from a minor mode of transportation to a multibillion-dollar global business,” said Fred Green, president and chief executive officer of Canadian Pacific

CP's and CFF's partnership dates back to 1966, and a national co-location program in Canada whereby CFF has built all of its centers adjacent to CP intermodal terminals.

CFF provides truckload and less-than-truckload service from any point to any point within Canada and the U.S. Northeast and Midwest, national drayage services, cartage, warehousing, transloading on both the West and East coasts, special operational direct ship program for select retailers and third party logistics. It has 17 operating terminals across Canada and a sales office in Shanghai, China.
