VIRGIN ATLANTIC NAMES CARGO DIRECTOR
Virgin Atlantic Airways, the British airline, has appointed John Lloyd to the newly created position of director of cargo operations following a general management restructuring at the carrier.
Lloyd has responsibility over Virgin’s worldwide freight activities. He was general manager of cargo and has worked at the airline since 1987. Virgin Atlantic’s cargo division moves about 135 metric tons of freight a year worth more than $180 million in revenue.
Lloyd will report to Alan Chambers, who was voted on to Virgin’s board as executive director of cargo and technical services.
