SEARS AND HUB GROUP RENEW STRATEGIC AGREEMENT
Sears Logistics Services, Inc. (SLS) and Hub Group Inc. have renewed their strategic agreement that allows the two companies to interface their EDI systems.
The strategic relationship between the two companies began in 1991 when Hub began handling intermodal services for SLS. This initial agreement allowed the companies to be linked electronically through their respective AS 400 systems. The agreement grew to include management of equipment using a proprietary logistics management system developed by Hub Group. SLS has gained a high degree of visibility for its trailers and containers, improving equipment utilization and reducing operational costs.
Hub Group is a non-asset-based freight transportation company based in Lombard, Ill. SLS is based in Hoffman Estates, Ill.
