Hamburg Sud moves North America executive to Hamburg head office
Heino Schmidt, senior vice president of Hamburg Sud North America Inc., will move to the headquarters of the German company in Hamburg to become a member of its executive board, effective July 1.
Schmidt will be in charge of finance and controlling for the Hamburg Sud group worldwide. He will become the fourth member of the executive board, alongside Klaus Meves, chairman, and fellow board members Ottmar Gast and Joachim A. Konrad.
In North America, Schmidt’s responsibilities at Hamburg Sud will be divided between two senior vice presidents: Juergen Pump and Frank Larkin. Pump will be responsible for consortia matters, marine terminal operations, logistics, finance and accounting, data processing and human resources, in addition to his current pricing and allocation management duties for Pacific services. Larkin will be in charge of sales, marketing and customer service, commercial reporting and documentation, in addition to his current responsibilities for pricing and allocation for inter-American services.
