U.S. searches trucker rolls for possible terrorists
The U.S. Transportation Security Administration has identified 29 truckers with credentials to haul hazardous material who have possible connections with terrorist organizations, according to news reports last week citing remarks by Homeland Security officials.
The agency has been looking into the backgrounds of 2.7 million truck drivers with hazardous material licenses since the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks. The 29 suspected drivers are being investigated further, officials said.
