Clinton urges point man for northern border security

Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton, D-N.Y., introduced a bill last week that would create a new position within the Department of Homeland Security to coordinate the activity and spending of security agencies operating on the northern border with Canada.

The Northern Border Coordinator would also serve as the department’s key liaison with state and local governments. The job would report to the under secretary for border and transportation security.
