EPA GETS A HANDLE ON PESTICIDES IN IMPORTED FOODS
The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is enhancing its policy for dealing with pesticide residues in imported foods.
The agency issued a notice in this week’s Federal Register and on its Internet Web site regarding pesticide import tolerances and residue data for imported foods. The notice is posted at http://www.epa.gov/fedrgstr .
The EPA said comments on the notice from the industry are due by July 31.
