Feinberg’s nomination to FRA chief gains momentum

The Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday approved Sarah Feinberg to be administrator of the Federal Railroad Administration by a 19-1 vote in an off-the-floor markup.

The Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday approved Sarah Feinberg to be administrator of the U.S. Transportation Department’s Federal Railroad Administration by a 19-1 vote in an off-the-floor markup.
“At her confirmation hearing, Ms. Feinberg offered assurances that she will lead the Federal Railroad Administration in a transparent and responsive manner if confirmed for the position of administrator by the full Senate. This is a critical time for railroads and Americans who depend on them,” said Senate Commerce Committee Chairman John Thune, R-S.D., in a statement.
Feinberg, who was DOT’s chief of staff from September 2013 to January 2015, has served as both deputy and acting administrator at FRA since the start of the year.
