Executive Moves: Panalpina, Michael Dusi

Lucas Keuhner is promoted to executive vice president; hired are Peder Winther as EVP, Owen Schmidt as COO and Alexandra Lersey as controller.

Panalpina announced Wednesday that it is enlarging its executive board to include its three core products: air freight, ocean freight and logistics.
Lucas Kuehner, an 18-year Panalpina veteran, is being promoted to executive vice president of air freight, effective Jan. 1. He has held senior roles in Switzerland and the United States and has been the global head of air freight and a member of Panalpina’s executive committee since 2012.
Peder Winther will join Panalpina as the executive vice president of ocean freight on Feb. 1. He has nearly 30 years of international experience in the freight forwarding and transportation industry. Winther joins Panalpina from Kuehne + Nagel, for which he most recently served as president and regional manager of Western Europe.
Daryl Ridgway will remain the global head of ocean freight until the beginning of 2019. “His future role within the organization will be communicated at a later date,” the company said.

Michael Dusi Logistics, a niche 3PL that provides specialized solutions for the wine and craft beer industry, announced Wednesday the expansion of its senior executive team with the appointments of Owen Schmidt as chief operating officer and Alexandra Lersey as controller.
Over Schmidt’s 20-year career in transportation and logistics, he has held a number of senior executive positions, including as managing director for Cross Border Trading and Advanced Quality Logistics as well as COO for Performance Team Freight Systems.
Lersey has held senior accounting positions with Sextant Wines, REC Solar Corp., Wyle Laboratories and Twentieth Century Fox.
