Executive Moves: TIA, DSV, Chapman Freeborn and AAPA

The Transportation Intermediaries Association appoints VP of education and DSV Road North America names president, while Chapman Freeborn selects chief commercial officer and the American Association of Port Authorities installs 2016-2017 chairman.

   Laurie Denham has been appointed vice president of education for the Transportation Intermediaries Association (TIA). Denham joins TIA from APICS where she was senior director of logistics and supply chain academic relations. She also oversaw the merger of the American Society of Transportation and Logistics (AST&L) with APICS in 2015. Denham was president of the AST&L for 13 years.

  Jacques Retief has been named president of DSV Road North America. Following its acquisition of UTi Worldwide, DSV Road has now been established in North America with two business units: DSV Road Inc. (handling brokerage and 3PL activities) and DSV Road Transport (handling carrier and asset-based activities).

   Chapman Freeborn has appointed Philip Mathews chief commercial officer. For the past 14 years, Mathews worked at Air Partner and was appointed president of the U.K.-based company’s U.S. operations in 2003.

   Mark McAndrews, port director of the Port of Pascagoula in Mississippi, was formally installed on Oct. 26 as the 2016-2017 board chairman for the American Association of Port Authorities (AAPA). In this role, he succeeds Jim Quinn, president and chief executive officer of Port Saint John in New Brunswick, Canada.
