United Cargo to offer Vietnam service
United Airlines said it will commence daily 747 jumbo jet service between San Francisco and Ho Chi Minh City via Hong Kong on Dec. 9, pending approval of its application by the government of Vietnam.
The start of combined passenger and cargo service coincides with the third anniversary of the U.S.-Vietnam Bilateral Trade Agreement and marks the first time a U.S. carrier has provided service to the Asian nation since the end of the Vietnam War almost 30 years ago.
