MOL gets 15-year charter for third bulker from Baoshan
Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has concluded a 15-year charter agreement with Baoshan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd., China’s largest iron and steel group, for a third newly built Cape-size bulk carrier.
The one-ship contract is in addition to the two-vessel contract announced on Nov.17. All three new vessels will carry iron ore from western Australia to Shanghai under a 15-year consecutive voyage charter starting in April 2004.
MOL said it will be the largest non-Chinese shipping company working with Baoshan. The three vessels will together transport nearly 10 million tons of iron ore to Baoshan per year, said MOL.
