MSC announces peak-season surcharge

MSC said export cargo from the West Coast of the U.S. and Canada to North Europe (including Scandinavia and the Baltic region), the western Mediterranean and Israel will be subject to a peak season surcharge of $200 per 20-foot container and $400 per 40-foot container, effective Nov. 18, 2013.
MSC said the increase was needed “in order to preserve the existing comprehensive range of services between North America and Europe and to advance freight rates toward a sustainable level.”
