Schenker-Seino, BAX Global in Japan merged
Schenker-Seino Co. Ltd. and BAX Global Japan K.K. have merged to create a single company with about 460 employees at 23 locations throughout Japan.
The enlarged Schenker-Seino is a joint venture between Germany’s Schenker and Japanese firm Seino Holdings Co., Ltd. and provides a diverse range of services including air and sea freight, land transportation, integrated logistics and supply chain management, customs clearances, information technology services, projects, fairs and events and household removals.
Schenker's parent company, German state-owned rail operator Deutsche Bahn AG, is in the process of integrating its logistics units around the world, following its purchase of BAX Global for $1.1 billion from U.S. security firm The Brink's Co. in January 2005.
