Service Announcements: Agility, Kalmar, Kane Is Able, ICAT Logistics, Yusen Logistics and CEVA Logistics

ADIPEC partners with Agility, Kalmar to deliver 20 additional cranes to DP World London Gateway, Nutrabolt taps Kane Is Able, ICAT forms customs brokerage subsidiary, Yusen creates project cargo team in Brazil and CEVA opens Southeast Asia headquarters.

Dmg::events tapped logistics provider Agility to manage the international freight and on-site handling services for the Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Major Oil Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in 2015 and 2016. Held at the Abu Dhabi National Exhibition Center in the United Arab Emirates, ADIPEC is a global trade show and conference for the oil and gas industry.
Agility Fairs and Events will be responsible for assisting exhibitors and their contractors with logistical requirements and shipping of exhibits to and from the ADIPEC events.

Kalmar, part of Cargotec, has signed a contract with DP World London Gateway to deliver an additional 20 automatic stacking cranes to support its continued terminal expansion. So far, the cargo-handling equipment manufacturer has delivered 40 of these cranes, along with 28 shuttle carriers and two reachstackers, to DP World London’s first and second berths during 2013-2014.
Financial terms of this newest contract were not disclosed.

Kane Is Able has entered a long-term contract with Nutrabolt to provide both manufacturing logistics and product distribution.
Kane will operate Nutrabolt’s logistics facilities in Atlanta and Salt Lake City. Operations will require temperature-controlled space and strict management of expiration dates and first-in/first-out stock rotation, Kane said.

ICAT Logistics, an Elkridge, Md. freight forwarder, has formed a customs brokerage subsidiary as part of an expansion effort driven by strong sales.
The company said last month it has secured a customs broker license and certification to do remote location filing. ICAT Customs Brokerage eliminates the need for the company to use a third-party broker. The company now provides end-to-end logistics services.
Last year, the company, which uses an agency model, opened offices in Los Angeles and Nashville, Tenn.
ICAT said average agency revenue increased 28 percent and international business grew 72 percent in 2014.

Yusen Logistics Do Brasil Ltda. has created a dedicated project cargo team in Sao Paolo, Brazil to manage existing manufacturing customers in Brazil as well as new clients in the region. The company attributed the expansion primarily to growth in the industrial goods, energy and general machinery segments.
The new team will provide global project consultation, planning and implementation across all modes, supporting break-bulk, over-dimension heavy machinery, equipment and ocean services such as roll/on-roll/off, heavy lift, flat rack and Open Top Out of Gauge, and chartering.
Marcos Pultrini, Yusen’s project team leader in Brazil, said in a statement the company has provided project cargo services in Brazil in the past, but the formation of a dedicated team is a “real advantage to our customers in this market.”
“In many cases, it more cost effective to import heavy equipment and machinery from the U.S., Europe and China, then it is to build these same parts in Brazil,” Pultrini said. “We expect to see much growth in this area.”

CEVA Logistics opened a new headquarters for Southeast Asia in Singapore. The facility, called West Hub, includes 48,000 square meters (157,480 square feet) of warehouse and office space and will house over 300 employees.
According to a statement from the supply chain management company, West Hub will also serve as a CEVA City of Energy, meaning it is a “fully dedicated hub for the warehousing, cross docking, flow management and handling of oil and gas products and services for the energy sector.”
The City of Energy, which has 26,000 square meters of warehouse space and 5,000 square meters of open yard space, features high floor loading capacity of 30-35kn/m2, VNA space, a special cargo containment area, RF material handling and processing, heavy lift services and warehouse management systems. CEVA will offer office space to its energy customers to operate directly at the West Hub, allowing them easy access to warehouse operations.
