LYKES, CONTSHIP, TMM ADD ITALIAN PORTS TO ATLANTIC SERVICE
Lykes Lines, Contship Containerlines and TMM Lines are adding calls at the Italian ports of Leghorn and Genoa on their joint Gulf-Mediterranean service, starting with eastbound sailing from Veracruz on June 12.
The new Italian port calls on the nine-day-frequency service will replace an existing call at La Spezia.
“The addition of these ports enables us to provide Italian importers and exporters with new and improved options,” says Tony Bruno, vice president commercial at Lykes.
The revised port rotation is: Miami, Veracruz, Altamira, Houston, New Orleans, San Juan, Gioia Tauro, Leghorn, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia and back to Miami.
Hapag-Lloyd and Italia also take space on the Mediterranean/U.S. service.
