NEW YORK SEMINAR TO DISCUSS OFFSHORE NATURAL GAS TERMINALS

A half-day seminar, entitled “How to Implement Your Offshore Natural Gas

Terminal,” will be offered free on Jan. 16, 2003, at the New York Yacht Club

in mid-Manhattan.

Capt. Michael Brown, chief of the vessel and facility operating standards

division at U.S. Coast Guard headquarters in Washington, D.C., will discuss

the recent amendment to the U.S. Deepwater Port Act. The amendment expanded

the Act’s jurisdiction to include offshore facilities that transmit natural

gas.

Holland & Knight, a law firm, is sponsoring the seminar, which will also

focus on financing options, siting, the issuing of permits, environmental

concerns, and legal issues.
