ROADWAY LAUNCHES PROGRAM TO SPEED UP SERVICES
Roadway Express has begun the first phase of a re-engineering program to speed up its freight network, by refining its system and reducing transit times in the coming months.
The first phase reduces service standards on more than 20,000 lanes, the largest single reduction in the company’s history, Roadway said.
The service standard reductions resulted in additional two- and three-day lanes linking 35,000 locations across the country, Roadway said.
“We will see dramatic improvements in transit times in our key metro areas,” said John Bronneck, Roadway’s vice president of operations. “This improvement in our core service is an excellent compliment to our Time-Critical Services that provide guaranteed fast and flexible delivery options.”
