RYDER PICKS LOGISTICS.COM TO EXPAND ONLINE PROCUREMENT
Ryder System Inc., based in Miami, has contracted with Logistics.com, a provider of supply chain execution solutions, for software to improve Ryder’s transportation procurement processes.
Ryder will use Logistics.com’s Web-based OptiBid procurement solution to obtain transportation contracts for its customers’ truckload business. Later, Ryder will broaden use of the software across other modes, including air, ocean, and less-than-truckload road cargoes.
“OptiBid will enhance customer service through its ability to procure freight capacity quickly and easily, adding value to Ryder’s suite of supply chain solutions,” said Robert Sanchez, Ryder’s senior vice president for transportation management solutions.
