MAERSK SEALAND TO QUIT WTSA

   Maersk Sealand has notified fellow carriers of the Westbound Transpacific Stabilization Agreement that it will leave the agreement on Aug. 6.

   A spokesman for the discussion agreement said he could not comment on the move by Maersk Sealand.

   Besides Maersk Sealand, the WTSA members are APL, COSCO Container Lines, Evergreen Marine Corp., Hanjin Shipping, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, “K” Line, MOL, NYK, Orient Overseas Container Line, P&O Nedlloyd and Yang Ming
