SIEMENS PLANS U.S. LOGISTICS FOCUS
Siemens, the German electronic and engineering group based in Frankfurt, will create customer groups in the U.S. focused on logistics and e-commerce fulfillment, according to an interview in the Financial Times with Heinrich von Pierer, Siemens’ chief executive.
Von Pierer said Siemens will not make major acquisitions as part of its new American strategy.
“We know how to build ourselves from the inside. We do not need to make large, overpriced acquisitions that prove difficult to integrate,” he said.
Siemens has 30 businesses operating in the United States. “Our objective is to assess the positioning of our divisions there to obtain critical mass and raise profitability,” Von Pierer said.
