MOL forms separate environment unit
Tokyo-based Mitsui O.S.K. Lines has formed a separate environment group organizational unit at its head office, saying that the move would increase its focus on environmental issues.
Previously, environmental questions were handled by a combined environment and technology group.
The dedicated environment group unit will now work exclusively on environmental issues “to clarify MOL's stances and develop new programs,” the Japanese group said.
As part of a reorganization of its technical division, which includes the environment group, MOL also formed a ship planning and development group. The latter group will be responsible for planning ship construction and developing “new, more efficient, and more environment-friendly technologies” for vessels, MOL said.
