U.S. Lines to start Pacific service Dec. 29
U.S. Lines, a new venture backed by Ed Aldridge and other senior shipping executives, said it is on schedule to launch a transpacific service Dec. 29.
The first ship of the service will leave from Shekou Dec. 29 and from Hong Kong Dec. 30, from where it will be sailing to Long Beach the shipping line said.
The new shipping line aims to provide a low-cost China/Hong Kong/U.S. weekly service.
At the time of writing, it could not be established if U.S. Lines had chartered the five ships of 1,700-TEUs that it has envisaged in its business plan.
