APHIS PROPOSES FEE INCREASE TO COVER OVERTIME COSTS
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Animal and Plant Health Inspection Service has proposed overtime fee increases for Sunday, holidays or other off-hours work.
“We are proposing to increase these overtime rates for each of the fiscal years 2002 through 2006 to reflect the anticipated costs associated with providing these overtime rates for each of the fiscal years 2002 through 2006 to reflect the anticipated costs associated with providing these services during each year,” APHIS said.
“The cost analysis is based on our review of data such as anticipated costs due to increases in salaries and benefits of federal employees, indirect costs, program management costs, billing and collection service costs, agency overhead costs, and departmental charges,” the agency added.
APHIS will take comments about the proposed overtime fees from the industry through June 21. For more information about the fees, access on line: http://frwebgate4.access.gpo.gov/cgi-bin/waisgate.cgi?WAISdocID=4955689743+2+0+0&WAISaction=retrieve.
