Cochin short-lists seven bidders for new box terminal
The Cochin Port Trust has approved seven firms for further bidding on the establishment of its planned international container transshipment terminal at Cochin, southern India.
The port trust’s approval is subject to security clearance by the Indian government.
The seven firms are: Dubai Port International, Dubai; Maersk A/S, Denmark; P&O Ports Pvt. Ltd., Mumbai; International Container Terminal Services Inc., Manila; PSA India Pte. Ltd., Singapore; Adani Exports, Ahmedabad; and Larsen & Toubro Ltd., Chennai.
Queries raised by the bidders were clarified at a meeting of the port trust and management Jan. 27. Any further queries from bidders regarding this project must be raised by Jan. 31, the port trust said.
