AMERICAN MARITIME CONGRESS NAMES LABOR LIAISON, PUBLIC AFFAIRS DIRECTOR

      The American Maritime Congress, the Washington-based lobbying group representing U.S.-flag carriers, has named Phillip T. Walzak director of public affairs and Daniel K. Fuller, labor liaison and special projects advisor.

   Walzak comes to the AMC from the office of Sen. Herb Kohl, D-Wis., where he served as his press secretary.

      Fuller, an alumnus of the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy, also serves as special projects officer for the Marine Engineers Beneficial Association. He will split his time between the AMC and MEBA.

   In addition, Prentiss Vallender Lay, the AMC’s director of legislation affairs, will assume the new title of director of legislative and corporate affairs.
