American, BA cargo divisions raise fuel surcharge
British Airways World Cargo and American Airlines Cargo division are increasing their fuel surcharge in light of rising fuel prices.
Effective March 21, American Airlines Cargo is increasing the fuel surcharge from 30 cents per kilogram to 35 cents/kg for most U.S.-origin international shipments and from 12 cents/pound to 14 cents/lb. for U.S. domestic shipments.
British Airways World Cargo is raising its fuel surcharge to 35 cents/kg March 24.
American Airlines Cargo said its fuel index reached 155.29 for the week ending March 4, exceeding the trigger point of 145.00 for the second consecutive week.
