GIPSA to review standards for sorghum shipments
The U.S. Grain Inspection, Packers and Stockyards Administration has agreed to review its standards for sorghum shipments.
The agency received impetus for the review from the National Grain Sorghum Producers, an association representing U.S. grain sorghum farmers. The trade group would like GIPSA to clarify several definitions in the current standards to “more accurately reflect advancements in sorghum genetics and better reflect what is relevant to deriving value in the marketplace,” the agency said.
Comments are due to the agency by Feb. 17. For more information, contact Marianne Plaus at (202) 690-3460.
