PLANNED TAKEOVER OF CROWLEY SERVICES BY COLUMBUS IS POSTPONED
The takeover of Crowley’s U.S./South American liner
services by the Hamburg-Sud/Columbus Line group will be completed later than planned, a
spokesman for Hamburg-Sud said.
The acquisition of the Crowley American Transport services to and from
South America by Hamburg-Sud, announced in August, was due to be finalized in October.
Hamburg-Sud said that the takeover may now be completed about
mid-November. The carrier would not comment on the reasons for the delay.
Four container services of Crowley are due to be transferred to the
Hamburg-Sud group. They are on the routes U.S. East Coast/East Coast of South America,
U.S. East Coast/West Coast of South America, U.S. Gulf Coast/Mexico/East Coast of South
America and Florida/Venezuela.
