Executive Moves: Vargo, TIACA and European Community Shipowners’ Associations

Vargo appoints former Target supply chain VP to president of its Vargo Adaptive Software division, while The International Air Cargo Association elects a board member and the European Community Shipowners’ Associations names legal affairs director.

   Vargo, a material-handling systems developer, has appointed Michael Passales to president of its Vargo Adaptive Software division. Passales was most recently vice president of supply chain at Target, a position he held since April 2014.

   Steven Polmans, head of cargo at Brussels Airport Co., has been appointed to The International Air Cargo Association’s board. Polmans, who has more than 15 years’ experience in the aviation industry, is also chairman of the newly-established Air Cargo Belgium Association based at Brussels Airport. Prior to joining BAC in 2010, he worked for ground handler Aviapartner Cargo and GLU4.

   The European Community Shipowners’ Associations has appointed Claudia Vella Casagrande director of social, legal and fiscal affairs. Prior to this appointment, she worked for the permanent representative of Malta to the European Union.
