ALCAMPO SIGNS CONTRACT WITH EXEL
Exel has been awarded a four-year contract valued at '16 million (about $23 million) from Alcampo, the Spanish subsidiary of the French retailer Auchan. Alcampo owns 41 hypermarkets across Spain and a chain of more than 100 supermarkets.
Exel, a supply chain management company, will manage a non-food, 300,000-square-foot distribution center near Madrid, which handles products ranging from textiles to domestic electrical products.
Exel will also manage all warehouse services and develop and integrate Alcampo's operation into a new 560,000-square-fot site.
