Geest North Sea, X-Press Containers cooperate in intra-Europe trade
Geest North Sea Line and its partner for the Spanish area, Odiel Bilbao SA, have formed a vessel-sharing arrangement with X-Press Container Line, of Singapore, for intra-European container services. Under the agreement, they will operate sailings twice a week between Bilbao, Tilbury and Rotterdam, beginning Jan. 2.
“We will be using our 45-foot pallet-wide containers which offer comparable capacity to 13.6-meter road trailers and we believe we can offer a service that will be very competitive with those offered by road hauliers,” said Gerard de Groot, Geest’s commercial director.
X-Press Container Line is part of the Sea Consortium group, based in Singapore. It entered the north European feeder market earlier this year.
