GATX RAIL EUROPE EXPANDS MANAGEMENT TEAM

   GATX Rail Europe, GATX Corp.'s Zurich-based center for the company's European rail activities and investments, has named Jeff Riley and Rainer Sandow as executive vice presidents and Kirsten Trost as vice president.

   The three join D. Ward Fuller, president and chief executive officer, on GATX Rail Europe's executive board.

   Riley has been with GATX since 1979, serving in various positions with GATX Capital Corp., including vice president and controller, managing director-corporate finance, and managing director-international rail.

   Sandow joined GATX last July after 27 years in the European transportation and logistics industry, most recently as a member of the executive board for Kuehne & Nagel Management AG, a Swiss-based logistics company. He has spent the last nine months representing GATX in the European rail sector.

   Trost joined GATX Capital in 1997 as vice president, rail portfolio management. For the past year she has served as vice president, chief of staff for GATX Capital's CEO focusing on key strategic issues.

   In addition, Noel Travers joins the GATX Rail Europe management team. A veteran of the British Rail and Freightliner Ltd., he joined the London office of GATX Capital last year as director of international rail, evaluating operational and equipment issues for potential rail investments.

   Juergen Bauer and Geoff Phillips have also joined GATX Rail Europe to lead the integration of Dyrekcja Eksploatacji Cystern (DEC), Poland's national tank wagon fuel and distribution company, acquired recently by GATX.
