COSCO raising transpacific bunker rates

   The liner carrier COSCO Container Lines said Monday it plans to hike bunker rates on the transpacific trade from April 1.
   The line’s bunker adjustment factor will move to:

  • $429 per 20-foot container, $536 per 40-foot container, $603 per 40-foot high-cube or high-cube refrigerated container, and $679 per 45-foot container for all cargo moving to U.S. West Coast ports and for intermodal cargo via these ports destined to points California, Oregon, and Washington.
  • $724 per 20-foot container, $905 per 40-foot container, $1,118 per 40-foot high-cube or high-cube reefer container, and $1,146 per 45-foot container for all intermodal cargo and minilandbridge intermodal cargo via U.S. West Coast and Canadian ports destined to points outside California, Oregon and Washington.
  • $812 per 20-foot container, $1,015 per 40-foot container, $1,142 per 40-foot high-cube or high-cube reefer container, and $1,282 per 45-foot container for all cargo moving all-water to U.S. East and Gulf coast ports and for all intermodal cargo via these ports.
  • $429 per 20-foot container, $536 per 40-foot container, $603 per 40-foot high-cube or high-cube reefer container, and $679 per 45-foot container from Asia to Canada via Vancouver and Prince Rupert.
  • $812 per 20-foot container, $1,015 per 40-foot container, $1,142 per 40-foot high-cube or high-cube reefer container, and $1,282 per 45-foot container via Halifax.

   The new bunker fees apply to shipments from the Far East and Indian Subcontinent regions. – Eric Johnson
