MAERSK SEALAND STARTS CALLS AT JAKARTA TERMINAL

   The new Intra Asia Express service of Maersk Sealand has started calling at Jakarta International Container Terminal, the Indonesian container port.

   The “Bernhard Schulte,” a 1,382-TEU containership, was the first vessel of the new service to call at the terminal.

   The weekly service calls at Jakarta, Tanjung Pelapas, Singapore, Hong Kong, Yokohama, Kobe, Osaka, Shanghai and Ningbo before returning to Jakarta.

   Jakarta International Container Terminal reached a container throughput of 143,685 TEUs in July, its highest monthly volume for almost 3 years.

   The terminal is jointly owned by Hutchison Port Holdings and P.T Pelabuhan Indonesia II.
