Coast Guard talks with industry on sharing threat data
The U.S. Coast Guard will meet members of the maritime industry Sept. 1 to discuss information sharing mechanisms used to allow the federal government and the diverse maritime industry to share threat information, as well as the need for a maritime sector coordinating entity.
Representatives of the Department of Homeland Security and other government agencies will also attend. The meeting will be held in Room 2230, Department of Transportation, 400 7th Street SW, Washington, D.C.
'At the meeting, we intend to lay out the need and requirements for an information sharing mechanism. Additionally, we will discuss the need for a'coordinating entity to represent the concerns of industry,' the Coast Guard said in a statement.
