FMC MEETING TO REVIEW NCBFAA PETITION, CONTROLLED CARRIER ISSUES
The U.S. Federal Maritime Commission said it plans to hold a closed-door meeting June 25 to review a petition filed by the National Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association of America and the International Association of NVOCCs regarding the contracting practices of the Transpacific Stabilization Agreement.
The FMC will also review controlled carrier issues; the ocean common carrier status of Shanghai Hai Hua Shipping Co. and SNL/HASCO Cross Space Charter and Sailing Agreement; and the case of New Orleans Stevedoring Co. vs. the Board of Commissioners of the Port of New Orleans.
