Homeland Security Committee gets organized
The new permanent House Homeland Security Committee Wednesday established five subcommittees:
* Prevention of Nuclear and Biological Attack.
* Intelligence, Information Sharing, and Terrorism Risk Assessment.
* Economic Security, Infrastructure Protection and Cybersecurity.
* Management, Integration and Oversight.
* Emergency Preparedness, Science and Technology.
Chairman Christopher Cox, R-Calif., also named the 18 members of the Republican majority who will serve on the committee. They include Don Young, Alaska, Christopher Shays, Conn., and Curt Weldon, Penn.
