USTDA awards $525,000 grant for Honduras port modernization
The U.S. Trade and Development Agency awarded a $525,000 grant to Honduras’ National Port Authority for modernization efforts at the Port of Cortes.
Specifically, the grant will promote the use of modern operations and management systems related to information technology, equipment maintenance and repairs, acquisition and use of service boats, fire detection, and cargo handling.
Port of Cortes handles large amounts of cargo from Honduras, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and El Salvador bound to the eastern United States and Europe.
