Con-way reports lower earnings
Con-way Inc. said it had third quarter profit of applicable to common shareholders of $13.5 million compared to $38.8 million in the same period last year.
Pacer in deal with Union Pacific
Pacer International Inc. reported sharply lower earnings in the third quarter, but said it has reached a new deal with the Union Pacific Railroad that will “further accelerate Pacer's transformation into a fully-integrated, door-to-door intermodal service provider.”
Expeditors reports 33% drop in profit
Expeditors International of Washington Inc. said it had third quarter net profit of $57.8 million, down 33 percent from the $85.6 million for the same quarter of 2008.
