MOL STARTS EUROPE/WEST AFRICA SERVICE
The Japanese shipping line MOL will start an independent service between Europe and West Africa at the end of June that will be integrated into its global liner network.
The new service, named 'African Rainbow Express,' will provide sailings every two weeks and employ two MOL-operated vessels. It will have a port rotation of Antwerp, Felixstowe, Le Havre, Dakar, Conakry, Abidjan, Tema, Abidjan, Dakar, Las Palmas, Leixoes and Antwerp.
Other European ports will be served via transhipment in Le Havre.
MOL said that the service will provide a transshipment link for North America/West Africa cargoes, moving via northern Europe, and for Europe/South Africa cargoes, transshipped via Abidjan in West Africa.
Other African ports such as Cotonou, Lome, and Lagos, will be served via transhipment in Abidjan onto MOL's Asia/West Africa services.
